Apple Vision Pro heads to the USA on 2 February

No word yet for us Aussies.

The Apple Vision Pro will launch in the USA on 2 February, Apple has today confirmed, with pre-orders opening soon. There’s no word as yet as to when Aussies can expect the new hybrid augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) device.

The Meta Quest-like device — a standalone VR headset complete with an M2 chip and running an operating system called VisionOS — will retail in America for $3,499 USD. Apple today confirmed that the device will also come with 256GB of storage at that price point.

Apple also confirmed the device will come with “a Solo Knit Band and Dual Loop Band — giving users two options for the fit that works best for them. [The] Apple Vision Pro also includes a Light Seal, two Light Seal Cushions, an Apple Vision Pro Cover for the front of the device, [a] Polishing Cloth, Battery, USB-C Charge Cable, and USB-C Power Adapter.”

Alongside the news, What the Golf? has been confirmed as a game for Apple Vision Pro, launching alongside the device itself.

“That means the game takes advantage of the powerful capabilities of Apple Vision Pro to transform the space around players, offering unique and engaging gameplay experiences,” developer Triband said in a press release.

“We are so thrilled to be bringing What the Golf? to Apple Vision Pro,” added Triband CEO Peter Bruun. “This groundbreaking platform will help us take our comedy games in the What the__? series to new heights! Super exciting times ahead for laughs.”

We’ll keep you informed as more as known about Apple Vision Pro Australian availability. Until then, those in the USA can begin to pre-order the device from 18 January ahead of its 2 February launch.
