Apex Legends Fight or Fright Halloween event confirmed

The Apex Legends Fight or Fright Halloween event was today confirmed by EA, taking place between 15 October to 5 November.

The event “is packed with exciting content including an all-new limited-time mode featuring Kings Canyon at night, exclusive event challenges where you can earn free loot, special Halloween inspired Collection Event cosmetics, and more,” EA today detailed.

Here’s what to expect.

Shadowfall mode

The nighttime mode is called Shadowfall and is described as a “warped version of the Apex games hosted by a mysterious figure.” It’s a solo event for 35 total players; die and you’ll join the Shadow Squad and be tasked to eliminate those still alive.

As a Shadow Squad member you’ll use weapons and abilities but you’ll gain movement and jump speed. Paired with a powerful melee attack, you’re basically a fast-moving zombie.

New cosmetics

A host of new skins, badges and music packs will be on offer. Here’s what each of the 24 event-exclusive items will set you back:

  • Direct Purchase
    • Legendaries: 1,800 Apex Coins
    • Epics: 1,000 Apex Coins
  • Crafting
    • Legendaries: 2,400 Crafting Metals
    • Epics: 800 Crafting Metals
  • Event Apex Packs
    • 700 Apex Coins

The double XP weekend begins at 4.00 am AEDT on 26 October and runs until 4.00 am AEDT on 29 October.

Apex Legends is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
