Amazon Australia now sells digital video games

PC and Switch get the most love (for now?).

Amazon Australia will now sell digital video games through its online storefront.

From today, digital PC and Switch games will be available to customers alongside PlayStation and Roblox currencies, Xbox Game Pass and more.

“Our new Digital Video Games offering represents an exciting addition to the gaming range available on Amazon Australia,” said Matthew Benham, Head of Consumer Electronics and Media.

“We know that our customers come to [Amazon] looking for great prices, a large selection and convenience,” Benham continued. “We can now provide Australian gamers with the opportunity to purchase an extensive range of digital PC and console games, free-to-play games, digital game currencies and other digital gaming content, with the added convenience of finding this and everything else they might need on [Amazon], from gaming accessories through to the ultimate home entertainment set up.”

We’ll keep you informed as to when the service expands into PlayStation and Xbox games. In the meantime, what do you make of Amazon’s announcement?
