AFL 23 on Xbox delayed to June; no reason given

But available on PC and PlayStation tomorrow.

AFL 23 on Xbox has been delayed into June with no reason given, mere days before the title was meant to release.

Retailers have informed buyers of physical copies that stock isn’t expected until “Mid to Late June”, and the title isn’t even listed on Microsoft Store as a digital purchase.

A request for comment from developer Big Ant revealed that “Xbox is delayed,” according to a representative, though no additional information was given.

“PS5/PS4, Steam will be tomorrow,” the representative continued.

The footy title was initially delayed to 13 April to 4 May because of a lack of physical stock according to the AFL.

“Physical stock of one of the AFL 23 console platforms has not arrived in Australia,” the AFL said at the time. “To provided equity and fairness between all purchasers, regretfully, the release of AFL 23 will be postponed until 4 May 2023.”

It’s unclear why this lack of parity doesn’t extend to this latest delay; AFL 23 is expected in digital and physical formats from tomorrow, 4 May, across Windows PC via Steam, PS4 and PS5.
