A Diablo Immortal character can be maxed out for $150,000 AUD

Yikes.

In the mobile game world (and sadly — and increasingly — in other game worlds as well), a “whale” refers to a big spender. From the looks of it, Diablo Immortal is hoping to attract and entice whales to do just that in an effort to max out their in-game characters.

A new video from Bellular News (via Game Rant) has looked into levelling inside the new mobile and PC title and has concluded that it would cost $110,000 USD — or more than $150,000 AUD — to fully max out a single character.

Microtransactions come into play with Legendary Gems, an item used in one of Immortal‘s progression systems — and one that’s not avaliable to those taking part in its free-to-play systems. Bellular’s Matt says that those wanting to stick to free-to-play systems would be able to fully max their characters in roughly ten years.

You can watch Matt’s full video below.

Diablo Immortal is available now on Windows PC, iOS and Android devices. We previewed it here.
