Esports Results: Avant Garde knocked out of IEM Taipei

IEM Taipei kicked off yesterday with Oceanic League of Legends representatives Avant Garde taking on Taiwanese team Taipei Assassins in the quarter-finals. Taipei Assassins won the best of three set convincingly with a 2 – 0 victory over Avant Garde, knocking them out of the IEM tournament.

Avant Garde qualified for the Intel Extreme Masters with their victory at PAX Aus late last year. Avant had lost its bottom lane duo of Veritas and Nada in the off season, both of whom were standouts in the Oceanic Regionals last year, putting them in a considerably weaker position for IEM Taipei.

Taipei Assassins will move on to the semi-finals where they will take on the Saigon Jokers for a place in the final, where a spot at the IEM World Championship in Katowice will be up for grabs.
