2K signs Tiger Woods to exclusive, long-term deal

It's unclear as yet if Woods will appear in PGA Tour 2K21 or a future title.

In addition to an announcement that it is in the process of acquiring PGA Tour 2K21 developer HB Studios, 2K today confirmed it has signed an exclusive, long-term deal with golfer Tiger Woods.

“In golf, there is no bigger icon than Tiger Woods,” said David Ismailer, President of 2K.

“Like the rest of the world, we were saddened to hear of his recent accident, and we wish him a full and smooth recovery,” Ismailer continued. “We have been eager to announce our partnership with Tiger, whose legendary career has transcended the sport. We are thrilled to have him join our PGA Tour 2K series as an Executive Director.”

“I am looking forward to making my return to the video game landscape, and with 2K and HB Studios, I’ve found the right partners to make it happen,” added Woods himself. “I’m honored to take part in this opportunity and look forward to sharing my expertise and insights as we build the future of golf video games together.”

At present, it’s unclear if Woods will be added to PGA Tour 21 or if he’ll appear in a future title.

PGA Tour 2K21 is out now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 Switch and Stadia.
