And it's crazy tough.
Resident Evil 2‘s Ghost Survivors DLC is available now, and it’s anything but a walk in the park.
The free DLC comes by way of an update — if you don’t see it available to download, try starting the game and see if that triggers anything.
While you wait for the download, we’ve laid everything we’ve learned about Ghost Survivors for you below.
Ghost Survivors scenario difficulties
The scenarios for Katherine, Kendo and Ghost are now available to play — and completing them unlocks a fourth scenario — with Capcom rating each scenario’s difficulty out of five stars. Difficulty is as follows:
- Runaway (Katherine): 2 stars
- No Time To Mourn (Kendo): 3 stars
- Forgotten Soldier (Ghost): 4 stars
- No Way Out (Daniel): 5 stars
Ghost Survivors scenario mechanics
Each scenario has the same mechanics — you’ll be given starting weapons and will be tasked to achieve a specific goal.
Enemies differ in the campaigns — Kendo’s features purple-headed zombies that emit poison gas when defeated (so stay away), while Katherine’s involves regenerating enemies that neat to be beaten with powerful weapons. Finally, Ghost’s scenario features enemies with bulletproof gear.
To complete your objectives, you’ll make use of enemies with backpacks to help out; in all campaigns, some enemies wear backpacks that loot; in Kendo’s backpacks can be shot and used like an explosive barrel.
In each campaign, you’ll also encounter vending machines that offer up a choice between 1 of 3 items; choose wisely as you won’t be able to choose a second time.
All up, the difficulty of Ghost Survivors is insane, full of tons and tons of enemies and will require a lot of practice to get through one unscathed. Each scenario offers a training mode that allows one to practice before a run proper.
