Destiny 2: How to get the Witherhoard Exotic Grenade Launcher

Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals is out now and with it comes the new Witherhoard Exotic Grenade Launcher. This guide details how to obtain Witherhoard alongside its Catalyst.

How to get Witherhoard

This is a relatively easy get, especially if you’re already a Season Pass holder. You’ll find Witherhoard as an instant unlock if so.

If not, you’ll need to drop 1,000 Silver (approx $10 USD or $14.95 AUD) for the privilege.

Witherhoard comes with the Primeval’s Torment Intrinsic Perk, in which projectiles fired by it Blight targets or the nearby area upon impact. The Grenade Launcher also includes Break the Bank, whereby Blighted targets take additional damage over time and even Blight the nearby area upon death.

How to get the Witherhoard Exotic Grenade Launcher Catalyst

With Witherhoard in hand, head over to Banshee-44 to obtain its Catalyst questline.

You’ll need to complete the following steps:

  • Collect 50 Vault Keys (defeat combatants using Kinetic or Special Grenade Launchers)
  • Earn 300 Filthy Lucre from Nightfall Strikes, Gambit & Crucible matches
  • Get 200 Grenade Launcher multikills
  • Get 100 Guardian kills using a Grenade Launcher

Once that’s done, head back to Banshee for the Catalyst, which adds the Silent Alarm perk. That improves handling and automatically reloads the weapon when it is holstered.

Destiny 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia where available. A new expansion called Beyond Light heads to those platforms on 23 September, and on Xbox Series X and PS5 at launch.
