Want a sequel to your favourite Jackbox Party Pack game? Play the original!

That's how Tee K.O. 2 came to be.

At the risk of stating the obvious, Jackbox Games has confirmed that it makes sequels to its popular games.

Speaking with Stevivor at PAX AUS, Jackbox’s Mike Bilder made the startling revelation.

“We did the [Jackbox] Party Starter,” he said, referencing a 2002 bundle that grouped Tee K.O. from Party Pack 3, Trivia Murder Party 2 from Party Pack 6, and Quiplash 3 from Party Pack 7.

Desperate for some drama, I asked how the three games were selected, hoping — nay, expecting — for some juicy intraoffice politics. Alas, no.

“It’s all server based,” Bilder explained, “because your phone’s talking to a server talking to the game. So we know.

“We could log in right now and tell you what games are being played,” he continued. “We could tell you the popular ones last week, last month, or last year — and we use that info to inform sequels.”

Tee K.O. is a perfect example of that as its sequel, Tee K.O. 2 will soon make its debut in Jackbox Party Pack 10.

“It’s been a super popular game since Pack 3 when it came out,” Bilder said. “That, and the fans have asked for a sequel on customer surveys and everything.”

It doesn’t hurt that Tee K.O. — and its upcoming sequel — are unique in that players are actually able to order real-life versions of shirts they create while playing. Check out a couple examples above (or below in a trailer).

With this newfound knowledge in mind, could this humble writer request that everyone jump on Party Pack and play You Don’t Know Jack a bunch, please and thanks? I’m jonesing for come Cookie Masterson.

Expect Jackbox Party Pack 10 on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Switch from 19 October. Other titles in the pack include Dodo Re Mi, FixyText, Hypnotorious and Timejinx.
