Stevivor’s Best Sports Game of 2022

Wii Sports it ain't... well, kinda.

It’s that time of year again! We’re winding down 2022 with Stevivor’s long-running GOTY awards program!

As always, we’re kicking things off with Best Sports or Racing Game of 2022, and that honour goes to Nintendo Switch Sports.

Nintendo’s latest release in its popular Sports series was released back in April of this year; it was updated in November to include Wii Sports‘ golf mode.

As you might then expect, this one’s a case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

“The package is solid… and that’s because Nintendo nailed the formula the first time on Wii,” Steve wrote in his review.

“There aren’t any big risks being taken, nor do there need to be. It was a cultural revolution all those years ago, and it’s been gone long enough to be a welcome return to familiar family fun on Switch.”

Nintendo Switch Sports is available on — you guessed it — Nintendo Switch.

Runners-up in this category include the likes of F1 22 and PGA Tour 2K23.

We’ll be back tomorrow with the best RPG of the year; Stevivor’s GOTY runs straight through until the end of this year. Come back now, you hear?
