Zelda: Breath of the Wild might be a Switch launch title after all, just not in Europe or Australia

A report by Eurogamer today suggests that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will indeed be a Nintendo Switch launch title, but sadly not in Europe or Australia.

The report, which follows a previous one in November of last year, says Nintendo of Japan initially delayed the launch of Breath of the Wild to July or August 2017, but has since decided it needs to bolster the launch of the Switch with the powerhouse title.

It’s suggested that Breath of the Wild has been brought up to a March 2017 release, coinciding with the launch of the Switch. This move allegedly will take place in all regions but those serviced by Nintendo of Europe — which, sadly for us, includes Australia. Nintendo of Europe has allegedly stressed the needs for testing and localisation, and as such, will keep to the original launch schedule.

This is all a report, mind you — Nintendo has kept quiet on the matter. We’ll find out more about the Switch — and presumably, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — at events taking place next week.

We’ll keep you posted.
