It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas as Snowdown hits League of Legends

Beginning 10 December Snowdown will come crashing back into League of Legends bringing skins, wards and of course The Legend of the Poro King.

Snowdown is probably my favourite League of Legends festive celebration, regularly packing in some cute as heck skins and wards with one of the better featured game modes. This Snowdown will be no different, featuring 3 brand new snowy skins and the return of 3 legacy ones. Syndra, Bard and Gnar are all getting the Snowdown treatment with skins worth 975RP. Both the Syndra and Gnar skins are legacy too, meaning they’ll disappear once Snowdown ends. Snow Day Singed, Ziggs and Malzahar are also returning to the store across this Snowdown and can be picked up for 975Rp too.

Two new icons and one incredibly cute Penguin Skier ward will be available too, all of which are also legacy. Seriously, get a load of this damn penguin.

The minions seem to have been feeling the cold a lot this Snowdown so Riot are rugging them up in special cold weather gear. It’s good to see Riot are adding these changes to Summoners Rift too but it’s a long way from the Winter and Halloween maps of old.

The last major part of Snowdown is the featured game mode only available at this time of year, The Legend of the Poro King. This game mode takes place on the frosty Howling Abyss map and sees players fighting to summon the almighty Poro King to vanquish their foes. It also features two game-mode specific summoner spells that can be customized according to your summoner icon.

Finally Snowdown also features special sales, self mystery gifting and the return of several large legacy bundles.

Snowdown runs from 10 December to 7 January, you can check out all the details here.
