Xbox All Access Australia lets you rent-to-own an Xbox One

Xbox All Access Australia is the local release of an Xbox One rent-to-own program that’s been available in the USA since 2018.

The bundle, exclusive to Telstra here in Australia, comes with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and an Xbox One S ($27 AUD/month over 24 months) or an Xbox One X ($38 AUD/month over 24 months. The bundles also come with a full download of Forza Horizon 4 and its LEGO Speed Champions DLC, meaning you’ll actually own those titles even if you end your Xbox Game Pass membership.

A press release from Microsoft and Telstra also confirms that “players can buyout their hardware at any time and upgrade to Project Scarlett once it’s available,” though more information on that upgrade won’t be available until early 2020.

If cancelled early, a subscriber will only have to pay out the remaining cost of the hardware, not the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Xbox All Access is available to Telstra post-paid customers, meaning you’ll need to be approved by Telstra; those on Telstra Plus will also be entitled to an Xbox One chat headset when subscribing.

Xbox One S All Access comparison

The Xbox One S All Access bundle is priced at $648 AUD, or $27 AUD/month over 24 months.

Separately, the items would cost $766.85 AUD, meaning you’ll save $118.85 AUD with Xbox All Access.

  • Xbox One S Forza Horizon Bundle: $399 AUD
  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership: $367.85 AUD ($1 for first month, then $15.95 for 23 months)

Keep in mind though that there are so many deals on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you’d likely be able to get a subscription at a lower rate than we’ve calculated using RRP.

Xbox One X All Access comparison

The Xbox One X All Access bundle is priced at $816 AUD, or $34 AUD/month over 24 months. This cost was reduced from $38/month in April 2020.

Separately, the items would cost $1,016.85 AUD, meaning you’ll save $200.85 AUD with Xbox All Access.

  • Xbox One X Forza Horizon Bundle: $649 AUD
  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership: $367.85 AUD ($1 for first month, then $15.95 for 23 months)

Again, it’s best to keep in mind that there are so many deals on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you’d likely be able to get a subscription at a lower rate than we’ve calculated using RRP.
