No need to buy tickets this time around.
Pokemon Go Fest 2026 will offer a free global event to all players without the need to purchase pricey event tickets. What’s more, a free community event will also be taking place in Melbourne at the same time.
This year’s festival takes place across the world on both 11 and 12 July between 10.00 am to 7.00 pm in your local time. The event will focus on Pokemon Mewtwo and Zeraora.
“Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global is FREE for all Trainers logged in during the event weekend,” Niantic and The Pokemon Company said in a statement. “That means Special Research, additional bonuses, and an increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon are available to all Trainers at no cost!
“This year’s event features the highly anticipated debut of Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y in Pokémon GO, available through Super Mega Raid Battles,” the pair continued. “Trainers will also be able to complete Special Research to encounter the Mythical Pokémon Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokémon, for the very first time in Pokémon GO.”
Melbourne’s associated community event will take place between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm AEST on both 11 and 12 July at Queensbridge Square in Southbank.
The Melbourne event is one of 26 events taking place across the globe. You can learn more about the larger Go Fest event and find the local community event closest to you here.
