Payday 2’s Hype Train event has come crashing home, making it through all 10 goals with just a few days to spare. The event — funded by purchases of Payday 2 DLC and preorders of Hotline Miami 2 — unlocked various new heists, characters and even a new event called PaydayCon.
PaydayCon will be a live event held in Los Angeles and will also feature a Payday 2 tournament with a $250,000 USD prize pool. I have no idea how that will work, but it will be interesting to see them pull it off.
You can still purchase both the Overkill and Completely Overkill DLC’s for now, but once the Spring Break event starts or the remaining 4605 (at time of writing) sell out the Completely Overkill DLC will leave the store for good. Owning the DLC isn’t necessary to access the new content unlocked in the event, but there are rare and secret items only available with the DLC.
