Nolan North isn’t re-recording Nathan Fillion’s lines in Destiny 2

Nolan North isn’t re-recording Nathan Fillion’s lines in Destiny 2, Bungie’s Scott Taylor today confirmed with Stevivor.

Taylor, Destiny 2 Forsaken Project Lead, was tight-lipped on the subject of North-as-Fillion-as-Cayde in Forsaken‘s story campaign (as Stevivor originally reported from E3 2018), but did confirm that North had not re-recorded any of Fillion’s pre-Forsaken lines.

The practice isn’t unheard of, especially considering that North himself re-recorded all of Ghost’s lines in the original Destiny after original voice actor, Peter Dinklage, wasn’t asked to return.

This could mean a couple things — we may have access to Fillion’s old voice recordings in pre-Forsaken replays, or any bit with Cayde-6 might be inaccessible moving forward. All we can confirm for now is that North will handle the voice of Cayde-6 in whatever capacity the character exists in the new expansion.

At Gamescom today, Taylor also confirmed that Destiny 2 Forsaken would be offering new Achievements and Trophies on Xbox One and PS4.

Destiny 2 Forsaken heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 4 September. The game’s Solstice of Heroes event is on now, and a special new pre-Forsaken quest involving Cayde-6 popped up in-game today.
