Heroes of the Storm prepares to enter closed beta

Blizzard today released details of the upcoming changes to their take on the MOBA genre, Heroes of the Storm. The closed beta begins 13 January (that’s American time) and brings with it a new map, balance changes and the introduction of ranked play.

Working from feedback they received in the alpha, Blizzard has updated heroes and worked harder on skins to ensure that they’re worth the purchase.

This update brings with it “Sky Temple”, the three-lane map announced at BlizzCon last year. Classic Warcraft character Thrall will also be released as a playable hero.

If you’re one of the lucky ones with access to the closed alpha you can expect this update to come through later on this evening.
