Team Australia has qualified for the Overwatch World Cup, Activision Blizzard has today confirmed.
Australia will duke it out in the Thailand-based Group Stage, competing against Thailand, China, Denmark, Spain and Sweden. Australia was selected as it had enough of the world’s top 150 players, based on average Skill Ranking, to be selected as one of the 20 countries to take part.

Each nation’s Competition Committee will begin phase 1 of voting now, in an effort to select a roster. For more information, head here. Phase 1 of voting runs until 15 May.
Group Stage match dates and times will be confirmed at a later date. The top two teams from each stage will advance to the Overwatch World Cup Top 8 at BlizzCon later in the year.
Overwatch is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
