Destiny 2 Forsaken will have new Achievements and Trophies

Update: The (non-Secret) list of Achievements and Trophies is now available here.

Original story: Destiny 2 Forsakenwill offer the chance to earn new Achievements and Trophies, Bungie today confirmed with Stevivor.

Bungie’s sequel launched nearly a year ago on 6 September 2017 and, despite two expansions in form of Curse of Osiris and Warmind, hasn’t seen an increase in Achievements or Trophies since. Speaking with Stevivor at Gamescom today, Destiny 2 Forsaken Project Lead, Scott Taylor, said that’s about to change with the game’s third expansion on 4 September.

“Yes,” Taylor simply replied when asked. He wouldn’t specify what those new Achievements or Trophies would be, but there’s ample content players can look to in terms of guesses. A new PvPvE mode, Gambit, will debut inside Forsaken alongside a new story campaign and a new endgame area called The Dreaming City.

As for why Destiny 2‘s other expansions didn’t get new Achievements or Trophies, Taylor couldn’t say.

“I don’t know why,” he said. “I don’t have a great answer for why Osiris and Warmind didn’t have them, but I know we’re having them [for Forsaken].”

Good news for Achievement and Trophy hunters — at least on Xbox One and PS4 — eh?

Taylor also told Stevivor today that Nolan North would not be re-recording any of Nathan Fillion’s old lines as Exo Hunter, Cayde-6.

Destiny 2 Forsaken heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 4 September. The game’s Solstice of Heroes event is on now, and a special new pre-Forsaken quest involving Cayde-6 popped up in-game today.
