It’s happening again — but sadly, it’s almost over. Today, the finale of Twin Peaks: The Return, the highly-anticipated third season of the cult phenomenon, will be available to stream. To celebrate (and commiserate) this event, Stevivor brings you a comprehensive look at a number of filming locations from the series.

The images and videos of Twin Peaks‘ various locations were taken in August 2017, some 27 years after they were made famous by the show (and its film follow up, Fire Walk With Me.

The Double R Diner

The home to damn fine coffee and cherry pie, The Double R Diner is the heart and soul of Twin Peaks; a place where locals gather to nourish themselves on food and gossip alike. The same appears true in real life — when we visited on a dreary Wednesday morning, Twede’s Cafe (137 W North Bend Way, North Bend, WA 98045) was bustling. In fact, our plan to sit in Norma’s famous booth was foiled when we found a real-life Sheriff already occupying the spot.

Though lacking the famous RR sign and the jukebox that Audrey famously swayed to in Season 1, Twede’s looks like the Double R on the inside and out. Season 3’s “RR to Go” branding is in full display as you drive up through North Bend to get a feed. At the rear of the establishment, breaking the fourth wall, a “Welcome to Twin Peaks” mural stands proudly. It’s a great place to get some snaps.

If you’re after a souvenir, you can’t go wrong with a handsome Double R mug ($20 USD). Remember to try the homemade soups.

Welcome sign

Sadly, a permanent “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign was short-lived after the installation suffered from multiple instances of vandalism. Still, it’s easy enough to find the spot where the famous sign once stood.

You can find the location at 41471 SE Reinig Rd, Snoqualmie, WA 98065, USA. There’s a turnoff so you can stop your vehicle and take a photo or two.

Ronette’s Bridge

Very near to the Welcome sign is the bridge where Ronette Pulaski famously stumbled back into town after escaping the those who murdered her friend, Laura Palmer.

Located on the Reinig River, the Reinig Bridge is known to fans as “Ronette’s Bridge” for obvious reasons.

The bridge is picturesque, nestled within the trees and frequented by locals on their hikes and bikes. The location, found near 40431 SE Reinig Rd, Snoqualmie, WA 98065, USA, is definitely worth a visit. If you’re up to it, do your best Ronette impression.

Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Department & Old Packard Mill

Like the Double R Diner, the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Department is an iconic location, the workplace of Harry S. Truman, Deputies Hawk, Andy (and now Bobby!) and their faithful receptionist Lucy. Across the road, a lone smokestack — the remains of the Old Packard Mill — stands as a reminder of what once was.

In real life, the location — 7001 396th Dr SE, Snoqualmie, WA 98065 — is now home to DirtFish Rally School. While the business reminds Twin Peaks fans that it is indeed that — a business — they happily open their doors to those who’d like to take photos of the location (including Lucy’s desk). As long as you’re respectful to the school’s clients and events of the day, you’ll have no problems.

Near the back end of the parking lot, DirtFish has set up a special treat for fans — a Ford Bronco that’s decked out like a Sheriff’s Department vehicle. As long as you don’t head towards the ol’ mill — and the rally course that now winds around it — you’re able to take as many photos as you like. Remember to check the Bronco’s bonnett for messages left by other fans.
