Compare PUBG running on Xbox One and Xbox One X

Digital Foundry has released a video that compares PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or PUBG, on both Xbox One and the powerhouse Xbox One X.

Their results have backed up thoughts of early adopters: it doesn’t run all that great on either console.

As Digital Foundry… um, found… the game struggles to meet 30 frames-per-second (FPS) on Xbox One X.

“With the title tracking gameplay from up to 99 other players, clearly there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that could impact performance and we’re willing to bet that PUBG can be both CPU or GPU-bound at any moment,” Digital Foundry reports.

“In order to get accurate metrics from like-for-like scenarios on base and X hardware, we set-up a small squad and played together on the same server. Across one 22 minute game, we noted an average frame-rate of 25.6fps on the base console, rising to 27.6fps on its more powerful 4K-orientated counterpart.”

Despite a poor framerate, the Xbox One X version does offer improved textures and HDR support.

PUBG is currently available in early access on both Windows PC and Xbox One. While Aussies have local servers in the PC version, we don’t in the Xbox One version. Sadface.
