Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Legendary Lieutenant guide

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will soon be available, and we’re working hard to provide you with the tools you need to succeed. This guide’s all about staffing your ship, the Adrestia, with Legendary Lieutenants.

Shortly into the game, you’ll receive your own ship and be given instructions to staff if. This is done by knocking out NPCs (clicking the left thumbstick while in stealth) and then recruiting them (again by clicking the left thumbstick). You can assign recruited people as a Lieutenant on the Adrestia, and they’ll provide bonuses that aid in combat and survival.

There are two Achievements/Trophies tied to this system: You Work for Me Now for assigning one Legendary Lieutenant, and The Argonauts for having the Adrestia staffed with all Legendary Lieutenants. Better stock up, eh?

We’ll keep updating this guide with more as we find ’em, but there are already a couple ways to recruit people (or simply specific people) that we know of. They’re below.

Evie

This Legendary Lieutenant (and protagonist of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate) is a freebie of sorts — she can be purchased from the Ubisoft Club using coins. Buy her, assign her, and you’re done!

Be warned, though — we bought her and can’t find her in-game… and we’re not alone.

  • Stats: +9% Javelin Damage, +15% Fire Javelin Damage, +8% Damage while Low Health

Bayek

This Legendary Lieutenant (and protagonist of Assassin’s Creed: Origins) can be purchased from the Ubisoft Club for 40 Coins.

Much like Evie, some users are reporting Bayek doesn’t show up in-game after purchase.

  • Stats: +9% Rower Stamina, +9% Fire Power when Ramming and +15% Rower Stamina Refill when Cleaving.

Prothous the Investor

Prothous is the commander of the very first region you’re tasked to limit the power of. We made sure to travel to nearby installations and kill Captain, burn war supplies and the like, fully removing his faction’s power.

With all of his power removed, we approached the level 7 leader as a level 9 character and simply knocked him out while in stealth mode. If you need to fight him, make sure you finish him off with a Spartan Kick (see ‘Any Mercenary’ below for a better explanation as to why).

  • Stats: +3% Arrow Damage, +2% Fire Power per Arrow Hits, -1% Damage Taken whilst Boosting

Any Mercenary

You know those guys and girls trying to kill you? Yeah, they’re recruitable. The trick is to leave Mercenaries alive so you can click on that left stick.

TLDR; just make sure your last blow on a Mercenary comes from the Spartan Kick ability — it’ll knock out the Merc rather than killing him or her.

A video from PS4 Trophies shows how it’s done:
