Stevivor’s Best Direction of 2022

Come forth, Tarnished.

We’re more than halfway through our 2022 GOTY awards program and have two gongs to award before the week is through. Today is Best Direction inside a game of 2022.

In this category, Stevivor staffers have awarded the honour to none other than Elden Ring.

“There are so many amazing things that can distract you along the way to get caught up and lost in,” wrote Luke in his review.

Elden Ring isn’t riddled with objective markers, nor does it put in a big blinking icon on the map that tells you where to go. The progression is very natural, and combined with self-discovery.”

Elden Ring is available Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5; it’s previously won a GOTY 2022 award for Best RPG.

Steve Wright

Steve's the owner and Editor-in-Chief of Stevivor.com, the country’s leading independent video games outlet. Steve arrived in Australia back in 2001 on what was meant to be a three-month working holiday before deciding to emigrate and, eventually, becoming a citizen.

Stevivor is a combination of ‘Steve’ and ‘Survivor’, which made more sense back in 2001 when Jeff Probst was up in Queensland. The site started as Steve’s travel blog before transitioning over into video games.

Aside from video games, Steve has interests in hockey and Star Trek, playing the former and helping to cover video games about the latter on TrekMovie.com. By day, Steve works as the communications manager of the peak body representing Victorians as they age.
