The BBC reports that a UK-based FIFA YouTuber has been charged with promoting a lottery, advertising unlawful gambling and inviting children to gamble.
Craig “NepentheZ” Douglas is one of two UK YouTubers being charged with offences under the Gambling Act. The chargers are believed to be the first dealing with betting via video games as well as claiming bonus offer types by betting sites in Canada.
NepentheZ’s videos deal with gambling inside FIFA‘s popular Ultimate Team mode.
The UK’s Gambling Commission appears to be cracking down on video game gambling, most likely due to recent CS: GO events.
