Anyone who’s played Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune on Hard or Crushing difficulties is likely aware of the infamous water room. Similarly, they’re also likely aware of the glitch that makes the diabolical room much, much easier.
Well, I’m happy to report that the glitch remains intact in The Nathan Drake Collection and players can rest easy knowing that the insane difficulty spike of the water room can be overcome quite easily. I’ve spelled it out in the video below which shows how to trigger the glitch, but essentially players simply need to back track to the location of the firefight just prior to the water room, fire a mounted gun and the goons will spawn without Drake having to jump down into the room with them.

While some purists may consider using the glitch cheating, the water room is just one of the set pieces in Drake’s Fortune that have aged terribly in the eight years since release, and the new Brutal difficulty makes it nearly impossible to finish legitimately. The room was widely derided at the time of the title’s release and the widespread knowledge of the glitch in the PS3 version is testament to how much players despised the section. Unfortunately, there’s no way to skip the jetski levels. Thankfully, much of the remainder of Drake’s Fortune is excellent.
