Tom Holland has started filming his part of the Uncharted movie

Tom Holland has taken to Instagram to confirm he’s on set and filming his part of the Uncharted movie that’s seeming been in production limbo as long as the PlayStation franchise itself has been alive.

After many, many attempts to get the project off the ground — totalling 13 years, in fact — Holland has posted an image of a director’s chair with “Nate” on the background, accompanied by the caption, “Day one #Uncharted”.

As previously reported, Holland will play a younger version of protagonist Nathan Drake, while Mark Wahlberg — who was once cast as Drake himself — has now aged into the role of mentor Sully.

Uncharted is expected in theatres on 16 July 2021. We’ll have more on the film as information comes to light.
