The Initiative development studio introduces itself in new video

The Initiative, a new Xbox Game Studios first-party developer, has introduced itself to the world in a new video.

Studio head Darrell Gallagher is joined by staffers Annie Lohr (Recruiter), Brian Westergaard (Director of Production), Drew Murray (Lead Designer), William Archbell (Technical Director) and Blake Fischer (Director of World and Narrative) and take the opportunity to discuss the studio’s goals.

While there’s lots of talk of the studio’s desire to “challenge the convention” and to be “pushing boundaries,” we’re not really given any clear indication of what it’s currently working on.

The Initiative was announced back at E3 2018, alongside the news Microsoft had acquired studios including Ninja Theory, Compulsion Games and Undead Labs. The Initiative is based in Santa Monica, California and has been pretty active in acquiring big-name talent from games with as God of War and Red Dead Redemption.
