Target Australia warns of Xbox Series X pre-order delays

Target Australia has emailed those who’ve pre-ordered an Xbox Series X, warning it may not be able to fulfil orders on launch day.

“We have recently been informed that our shipment of Xbox Series X for your pre-order will not be received at Target until mid November which may delay your delivery until late November to early December, subject to our carrier transit times,” an email to those who’ve pre-ordered reads.

Target continued on to say that pre-orders remain in confirmed status, but customers can get in touch with support to cancel orders should they wish.

Xbox Australia was quick to point out that this situation impacts Target specificially — “like previous pre-order programs, retailers and availability differ” — and isn’t indicative of nationwide delays across all retailers.

Earlier this week, Target began to email select customers informing them their previously-confirmed orders had been cancelled.

The Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X head to store shelves on 10 November.
