Skull and Bones Insider Program launched by Ubisoft

Want a sneak peek at the pirate game most of us thought was vapourware?

A new Skull & Bones Insider Program has been launched by Ubisoft and will provide select players a sneak peek at the beleaguered pirate game.

“The Insider Program is on-going live testing initiative for which we’re inviting carefully selected players to play an early version of our game in real conditions before anyone else,” Ubisoft said in a statement.

“Meaning for the very first time, members of our Insider Program get to play Skull and Bones and get a sneak peek at the work our development team has been doing behind the scenes,” Ubisoft continued.

Those wishing to try out the title can apply here; a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is required, so you’ll likely be unable to share impressions or captures from your gameplay experience.

Skull & Bones was first announced in 2017, then delayed into 2019, then delayed into 2020… and then we basically stopped hearing about it. Reports in mid-2020 suggested Ubisoft was rebooting the concept.
