Remedy’s Condor is a multiplayer spin-off of Control

Fighting evil... and bureaucracy.

Remedy’s Project Condor is a multiplayer spin-off of Control made possible through a partnership with 505 Games, the developer has today proclaimed.

Control is first and foremost a world, a place for multitudes of stories, events, and characters,” Remedy’s Mikael Kasurinen, game director of Control, wrote. “A place where unexpected, strange, and extraordinary things occur. We kicked it off with Jesse’s entry into the Oldest House, but there is more to this world. Oh, so much more.

“And Project Condor will be an expression of that.”

A single image depicting the Project Condor experience shows a team of four Bureau workers minding a body bag… and waiting for their number to be called back at the office in order to file paperwork. It’s above. An investor statement confirms Project Condor is a four-player PvE experience build on Remedy’s Northlight engine.

Karurinen acknowledges that Remedy is largely a single-player studio but says he and his team “are also avid fans of multiplayer games” with Remedy-made teams competiting in the likes of Battlefield 1942 at the same time they were developing Max Payne 2.

“We even got a small clan running. We were terrible, but it was the fun we had together that mattered,” he confessed. “There are worlds and experiences that you can access collectively, with your friends, and they can shine as brightly as any single-player experience does.”

Kasurinen also acknowledged an announcement that Remedy and 505 Games have also “outlined high-level collaboration terms to further expand the Control franchise with a bigger-budget Control-game,” meaning a (likely single-player focused) sequel is also in the works.

We’ll have more on Remedy and its projects as news becomes available.

Project Condor is planned for a release on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS5.
