Ratchet & Clank turns 20; latest title still not on PlayStation Plus

But a host of older games will soon be available!

Ratchet & Clank has turned 20 today, and Sony is celebrating by putting a bunch of games in the franchise into its new PlayStation Plus subcription service. Sadly though, 2021’s Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart won’t be added as part of the move.

A total of 5 new PS3 Ratchet & Clank games will be added to PlayStation Plus Premium, joining 5 that are already there.

The titles include:

  • Ratchet & Clank Future Quest for Booty: Already available
  • Ratchet & Clank Future A Crack in Time: Already available
  • Ratchet & Clank All 4 One: Already available
  • Ratchet & Clank Full Frontal Assault: Already available
  • Ratchet & Clank Into the Nexus: Already available
  • Ratchet & Clank: Coming 15 November
  • Ratchet & Clank Going Commando: Coming 15 November
  • Ratchet & Clank Up Your Arsenal: Coming 15 November
  • Ratchet & Clank Deadlocked: Coming 15 November
  • Ratchet & Clank Future Tools of Destruction: Coming 15 November

The lone PS4 iteration of the franchise, released back in 2016, is sort of available, part of the PlayStation Plus Collection program.

If you’ve already purchased Rift Apart, you’ll be able to take advantage of a 20th Anniversary Armor Pack that adds 5 new sets of gear.

The move to keep Rift Apart has some scratching their heads; while the likes of Ghost of Tsushima and Returnal have been added to PlayStation Plus after a year or so, A Rift Apart is now close to 18 months old. Sony has previously confirmed that its first-party titles won’t be added to the subscription service on day one (so keep that in mind with God of War Ragnarok‘s release next week).

We reviewed Rift Apart here, giving the title a 9/10.
