New Call of Duty Warzone map coming 2 December

See ya later, Verdansk!

A new Call of Duty Warzone map will be available from 2 December, Activision Blizzard has today announced.

Before it’s replaced, Warzone‘s current map Verdansk will get a special limited-time mode to send it off.

“The city and its surrounding area hosted over 100 million players for the past 18 months, and plenty has changed since March 10, 2020,” Activision Blizzard said in a new post. “From blasting back to the year 1984 to hosting ’80s Action Heroes and Hauntings, Verdansk proved to be the place to drop in again and again.

“To celebrate – and bring back –these classic moments and many more, lead developer Raven Software created a special ‘Operation: Flashback’ limited-time mode, featuring plenty of surprises that cover Verdansk’s action-packed history.

Following that event, the Vanguard-themed map of Caldera will be offered from 2 December.

Caldera was today described as a map with “lush forests and rocky crags. White sand beaches and mysterious ruins. And a dormant volcano that towers over the 200-plus points of interest.”

Activision Blizzard’s new Ricochet anti-cheat system will be introduced into Warzone at that same time.
