NetherRealm responds to allegations of horrific working conditions

Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm has responded to a barrage of allegations that paint the studio as incredibly toxic.

Several former employees of the studio have taken to social media to complain of horrendous working conditions, including the expectation to work excessive hours during crunch amidst further allegations of intimidation of contractors by full-time staff and executives.

“We [g]reatly appreciate and respect all of our employees and prioritize creating a positive work experience,” NetherRealm said in a statement to Variety. “As an equal opportunity employer, we encourage diversity and constantly take steps to reduce crunch time for our employees. We are actively looking into all allegations, as we take these matters very seriously and are always working to improve our company environment. There are confidential ways for employees to raise any concerns or issues.”

Mortal Kombat 11 is available on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch.
