Microsoft isn’t raising the price of the Xbox Series S or X

At least, not yet?

Microsoft will not raise the price of the Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X, it has today confirmed with Stevivor.

“We are constantly evaluating our business to offer our fans great gaming options,” a Microsoft representative told us this morning.

“Our Xbox Series S suggested retail price remains at $499.00 [AUD] and the Xbox Series X is $749.00 [AUD].”

While the Xbox Series X is still rather difficult to track down, the Xbox Series S is usually in stock — you can grab one at Amazon Australia for $468 AUD at the time of writing.

Our query came after news yesterday that Sony would raise the price of the PS5 in a number of markets including Australia.

PlayStation’s Jim Ryan said “the global economic environment” alongside “high global inflation rates, as well as adverse currency trends” were to blame for the price hike; the cost of the current-gen system was not raised in the USA.

We’ll of course keep you informed if anything changes.
