Spider-Man Undies suit has a larger bulge, backside: character artist

Spider-Man‘s Undies suit sports a larger bulge and backside, according to a former Insomniac character artist who worked on the model.

“I settled on a bulge that was slightly larger than what’s visible on the [default suit],” character artist Xavier Coelho-Kostolny told Polygon. “The logic there being that he didn’t have as much constriction or support, so things would be a little more free to move around.”

Coelho-Kostolny also confirmed that the Undies suit gives Spider-Man a larger derriere as well.

“That was just me being shameless about adding some beefcake,” Coelho-Kostolny admitted.

The full interview with the character artist details how much control Coelho-Kostolny had over Spidey’s V-shape, positioning of underwear and more. It’s a surprisingly great read.

Spider-Man is available now on PS4. As we’ve reported in the past, we’re super-cool with the suit in question.
