Destiny 2 cross-play something Bungie is “interested in doing”

Destiny 2 cross-play between Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia is something that developer Bungie is “absolutely… interested in doing some day.”

The assertation comes from Bungie’s Mark Noseworthy on Twitter.

“Stadia as a platform doesn’t make implementing Cross Play any harder actually,” he wrote. “We’re focused on Cross Save this year (for all platforms). Cross Play is absolutely something we’re interested in doing some day, but we have a lot on our plate to chew through first!”

As Noseworthy mentioned, Destiny 2 will soon offer cross-save support across Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4, meaning players can transfer their characters back and forth between the three platforms so long as they’ve purchased relevant content on each. Cross-save support won’t be available on Stadia, though players can choose to transfer their PC or Xbox One characters to Google’s new platform.

Destiny 2 is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. It heads to Stadia alongside its new expansion Shadowkeep in September.
