Chris Redfield playable in Resident Evil 2 using mined model

Chris Redfield is playable in Resident Evil 2 on PC, thanks to a model found through a datamine.

Modders have pulled Redfield, the protagonist of Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Code Veronica and a supporting character in Resident Evil 7from Resident Evil 2 and provided a mod to use the character as part of normal campaigns. You can see Redfield in the image above.

As we reported earlier in the month, Redfield is one of a handful of Resident Evil 7 characters/models that look to have been repurposed for use in Resident Evil 2. The same datamine suggests the characters will be used in a roguelike mode called Rogue; the mode itself is expected as part of the free update that brings The Ghost Survivors DLC in mid-February.

For the meantime, those wanting to play as Chris can use the mod; be warned, though, that Redfield can’t store additional weaponry… so it kinda trails behind him wherever he goes. Weird, eh?

Resident Evil 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. We reviewed the game here and have a series of guides for you here.
