Those aren’t PS5 demo kiosks, says Sony

The kiosks currently being installed in physical locations of various UK retailers aren’t PS5 demo kiosks, Sony has told IGN.

Without detailing what the white-and-blue PS5-coloured kiosks are for, a Sony representative told the outlet that the new areas, complete with a couch and place for a TV are “not PS5 related.”

As we said in our original report, it’s a bit of a strange time to be creating physical places where customers are encouraged to touch random controllers. While it’s good that these installations won’t be spruiking PS5 in that sense, they’re trying to sell something nonetheless.

We’ll report back as more is known.

The PS5 is expected this holiday 2020 season.
