343 apologies for Halo Infinite’s ongoing multiplayer issues

The team is focusing on Season 2, then working on planning and hiring.

343 Industries has apologised for issues plaguing Halo Infinite multiplayer, adding that fixes are in the way though are less of a priority than its upcoming Season 2 rollout.

“There are indeed a lot of challenges and constraints. We’re certainly not happy to be unable to meet player and community expectations, it’s a difficult situation that’s going to take the team time to work through,” 343’s Brian Jarrard said on Reddit.

“Right now the focus is on [Season 2] and we’ll have more to share on that in the coming weeks,” he continued. “Meanwhile a lot of production planning, costing, planning, hiring, etc.. is all happening which doesn’t really lend to detailed regular updates. We understand the community is simply out of patience and frankly, I think understandably tired of words. We just need some time for the team to get the details sorted and then we can certainly share as much as we can.”

Over on the Halo Waypoint blog, 343 admitted that a recent Tac Ops event wasn’t awarding progression for event challenges, so all ten rewards have been unlocked for all players as a means of further apology.

On the gameplay front, players are complaining of persistent desync issues that can cause situations like the one seen below.

Proof desync is the game’s fault. Less than 10 ping and a 1gb connection and this still happens…..Worst I’ve ever seen from halo

Towards the end of 2021, 343 was forced to reduce the amount of players within Big Team Battle due to persistent connection issues. Players immediately criticised the developer for leaving Big Team Battle mode challenges inside its progression system as many avoided the game mode over its ongoing issues. A hotfix was deployed in January 2022 to address the situation, but 343 later admitted it wasn’t successful.

Moving away from multiplayer, 343 has again delayed campaign co-op within the title, much to the chagrin of fans who want to play together. The feature is now expected later in the year.
