Pre-ordering and pre-loading of Destiny on Xbox One available today

Following yesterday’s accidental reveal that Destiny would be available to pre-order and pre-load on Xbox One, Microsoft has now confirmed that it is available to pre-order and download today.

Pre-ordering a digital version of Destiny through the Xbox Games Store will allow customers to download the game ahead of its 9 September release. It will become unlocked for play at 12.01 am AEST on 9 September for those in Australia.

Pre-ordering Destiny digitally on Xbox One will nab you some bonus goodies. The Pre-order edition ($99.95 AUD) will include access to the Vanguard Armory and Emblem bonus while the Digital Guardian Edition ($130.20 AUD) will include access to the Vanguard Armory and Emblem bonus, a Ghost skin, player ship and player emblem and the Destiny Expansion Pass.

To pre-load Destiny you’ll simply need to select “Pre-purchase” on the Xbox Games Store page for the game and pay in full. Destiny will automatically download and will also download any updates released prior to release. Microsoft also announced that digital download codes for selected DLC and games are now available at retail stores.

Destiny is only the first of many promised digital games able to be pre-ordered and pre-loaded on Xbox One with more titles coming in the next few months.

Yesterday we explained you how you can purchase Destiny digitally on PS4 and Xbox One for the much cheaper North American price and avoid paying the indefensible and much higher Australian price.

Destiny will be available for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on 9 September.
