The OG Switch just got a big battery upgrade, Nintendo confirms

The original Switch has just had its battery upgraded, bring hours more battery life to players, Nintendo has confirmed.

The new OG model, dubbed HAC-001 will feature a battery that provides an extra two hours of power to the handheld, putting total battery life somewhere between 4.5 to 9 hours. For power-hungry games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, players should expect something around 5.5 hours of playtime in handheld or tabletop mode (ie, not plugged into mains).

In comparison, the actual OG Switch gets between 2.5 – 6.5 hours of battery life while the newly announced Switch Lite gets between 3-7 hours.

In similar news, a recent filing suggests Nintendo has or will upgrade storage and CPU chips on the popular console.
