Xbox, PC, Android? No problems.
Newly detailed Xbox controller sync switch functionality will let players switch between their Xbox console, PC or Bluetooth-capable tablets and smartphones with ease.
As uncovered by Microsoft’s Timo Wolf, the trick only works with new Xbox Series controllers (sorry, Xbox One or Xbox Elite controller fans) and relies upon the controller’s sync button itself.
Here’s how it works:
- First, you’ll need to sync your Xbox Series controller with your Xbox and PC (or second device of choice)
- To switch the controller to a PC or mobile device, hold the sync button (it will cause your Xbox guide button to flash 2-3 times)
- To switch back to your Xbox console, double-tap the synch button (the Xbox guide button should flash once)
Wolf also detailed the process in a video, below.

Neat, eh?
The Xbox Series S & X controller comes with the new console or can be purchased separately.
