Sony launches Playstation Messages App for mobile

Sony has split off the messages section of its Playstation App, launching Playstation Messages for iOS and Android devices. Much like Facebook did with its messaging functions, you can now use the streamlined Messages app to view and communicate with your PSN friends independent of the full Playstation App.

You can read all about it on the Playstation Blog, which outlines the full functionality. Highlights include being able to send voice and text messages to groups or individuals, and seeing your friends PSN status at a glance. The Playstation Messages app is available now on the iTunes store and Google Play.
