OneGuide and Xbox One Digital TV Tuner heading to Australia

Xbox Australia has just announced that OneGuide is coming to Australia. Those Xbox Live members who are part of the Xbox One Preview program will see an option to configure OneGuide as of today.

OneGuide is Xbox One’s enhanced TV experience and allows users to combine free-to-air television with apps to personalise the television watching experience. OneGuide allows users to set favourite channels, select favourite channels by using Kinect voice recognition, navigate television listings and guides including using voice, snap television playback, SmartGlass compatibility and integration of on demand television and video.

Additionally, launching in March 2015 is the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner. A USB TV tuner, the Digital TV Tuner is “an alternative to accessing TV content from a free-to-air box connected through the HDMI-In port.” The Digital TV Tuner will provide streaming across home networks to smartphones or tablets with the SmartGlass app installed. This also allows television to be paused, rewound and fast forwarded.

The Xbox One Digital TV Tuner will retail for $39.95 AUD and can be pre-ordered from the Microsoft store and other retailers from today.
