The Diversion: Xbox’s Phil Spencer takes the ice bucket challenge

Xbox head Phil Spencer joins the ranks of many celebrities and personalities who’ve taken the ice bucket challenge in support of ALS research.

Spencer was challenged by Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson.

Spencer then nominated Valve founder Gabe Newell, PlayStation Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida and Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. Notice a theme, there?

The ice bucket challenge is fundraising for the ALS Association, who fundraise in an effort to find a cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease. You can head here to donate yourself.

Update: Reader Beau Nidle reminds us that ALS  is known as Motor Neurone Disease, or MND in Australia. Localised donations can be given here.
