Man, gamers are sure going the extra mile to nitpick upcoming next-gen consoles. This time, gamers have expressed dismay that they won’t be able to turn off the PS4 DualShock 4’s light bar.
The light bar — seen above, in blue — is used by the PS4’s optional Eye camera and functions like the current PS3 Move controller. When asked by gamers if they could turn the light off — so it wouldn’t reflect off of a TV in a dark room, or waste battery power — Shuhei Yoshida, Sony’s President of worldwide studios, took to Twitter with the following:

The light bar was used in Sony’s Playroom tech demo-game for a game of Air Hockey. Sony’s also suggested the light bar can be used for things such as UI extensions like in-game health bar displays and the like.
