Shop the PlayStation Store from the comfort of your PC

Sony unveiled their new online store yesterday, finally allowing PS3 and PS Vita owners the ability to purchase content via desktop web browsers. The new online store is available for use now in Australia and New Zealand and contains all of the content you’d find on the stores for the respective PlayStation systems.

The new online store follows the recent PlayStation Store revamp and is part of the on-going upgrades and improvements being made to the PlayStation shopping experience.

It appears that at launch the online store is missing a few key features which are promised to be implemented, the biggest of which being automatic remote downloads of content. Also promised is mobile phone and tablet browsing.

With PlayStation Plus, the new store and now a web store the PlayStation Network is really surging ahead of Xbox Live in terms of value for money, content and service.

Nintendo have a lot of catching up to do if they want to match the service offered by Sony and Microsoft – once the leaders in the online console field – are quickly falling behind. Interesting times are ahead and gamers are set to benefit if the one-upmanship continues.

You can find the online store here. Get shopping Steviants.
