Project (Near) Space launches Sackboy into orbit

Yesterday, PlayStation Australia launched a brand new community campaign on Facebook allowing LittleBigPlanet fans take part in Sackboy’s biggest adventure yet.

“Project (Near) Space” will see Sackboy shoot for the stars in his very own meteorological balloon to celebrate the launch of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita and the upcoming launch of LittleBigPlanet Karting. Once he reaches the stratosphere to become the world’s first “hessian-naut”, Sackboy will capture and share images of Earth.

As Sackboy prepares for his maiden space voyage Aussie fans are encouraged to get involved and become part of LittleBigPlanet history. The first phase is to “create”. Fans can design a special space suit for Sackboy to wear on his journey. The winning design submitted on PlayStation Australia’s Official Facebook page will be created and worn by Sackboy on his flight.

The second phase, “play” will present the community with a range of clues which can be used to help estimate Sackboy’s landing spot. Placing a pin on the interactive map enters you into the running to win a LittleBigPlanet prize pack, with the fan with the pin closest to the landing spot taking away the prize.

All of this is taking place on the Official PlayStation Australia Facebook page. Why not head on over and join in on the fun.

You can also join in the conversation on Twitter by using #LBPnearspace.

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita is available now.

LittleBigPlanet Karting will be available for PS3 8 November.
