Xbox’s future to be revealed in its podcast

Here's when you can download it.

The future of Xbox will be detailed in a podcast, Microsoft has today revealed. Said podcast will be available in both audio and video forms from 16 February here in Australia.

The podcast will be released at 7.00 am AEDT on 16 February here, corresponding to 12.00 pm PT, 3.00 pm ET and 8.00 pm GMT on 15 February elsewhere around the world.

“Please join us for a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast,” Microsoft said in a post. “Hear from Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond and Matt Booty as they share updates on the Xbox business.”

Early last week, rumours kicked up and suggested that previous Xbox and PC exclusives including Hi-Fi RushSea of ThievesStarfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle could be set to appear on PS5 and Switch.

Microsoft didn’t tackle the rumours head on, instead saying that it will hold “a business update event” this week in which Microsoft “look[s] forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. This upcoming podcast is that event.

In that week of silence, it’s been reported that Xbox head Phil Spencer has told employees at an internal event that the company plans to continue to make consoles.

It’s hard not to speculate on what the future of Xbox has in store… so much so that Ben and I did just that on our very own podcast, The Friendly Fire Show.
